First the bad news - late in 2011, we were asked to bid for the combined Capstone and Raintree UK lists.
These had been combined as both are owned by the Capstone Group in the US, and with Penguin-Pearson pulling out of the Raintree-Heinemann Library business, they were looking for a co-publishing partner.
INT BOOKS had already committed to the Australian published Trocadero list for 2012, and felt the changes from the new Australian Curriculum would devalue the Raintree UK list below their asking price.
So the result is we lost the Capstone agency to the EduGroup - and they commence distribution on February 18th.

Now the good news - we have access to a number of new agencies - the Wilkins Farago excellent picture story books; the Wild Dog Australian non-fiction list; an exciting collection of Australian aboriginal art, history, and general information books from Gecko Books; and some small specialised publishers including Jelli-Beanz and Tania McCartney; plus some fabulous reissues of the popular Too Cool kids fiction from Phil Kettle.
Plus - we have more than 1000 ebooks in our list this month, with hundreds more being released through Term One.
So many it was hard to fit them all into the 2012 catalogue.
So all together, 2012 looks like an even better year.
Regards,
Tom Danby
